By placing low value food prizes on the DreamWalk map outside your store locations you will attract customers into your stores where you have a great opportunity to up-sell them.

EXAMPLE: Burger Bros. creates a “Free Fries” campaign whereby they place five thousand prizes of a free small fries on the DreamWalk map around the actual physical locations of Burger Bros. stores. Users must physically go to or already be in the vicinity of a Burger Bros. store to collect a Free Fries prize. A DreamWalk user walking past a Burger Bros. store might receive a DreamWalk alert on their Mobile Phone telling them they have just walked into a Free fries, would they like to pick it up or ignore it? They click “pick up free fries”, they physically walk into Burger Bros. to collect it and buy a burger and Coke while they are there. What could be simpler?

Place free drinks or free cover charges on the DreamWalk map in the area surrounding your bar. Mobile users who come in to redeem their free drink will undoubtedly bring other paying customers and will probably end up drinking more than just the Free drink.

You could even use this method to steal clients from your competitors by placing Free Drink prizes outside their bars on the DreamWalk map. It’s just like having promo girls outside every bar in your city.

Giving away samples of your product is a very effective form of marketing. It enables potential customers to try your product risk-free, and if they like it there is a good chance they will buy it in the future. Also by using the Email prize redemption method, you can build a mailing list and send them other promotions and incentives.

Another way to build your brand is by giving away promotional materials such as caps, stickers and t-shirts with your logo on them. Again, use the E-mail redemption method to build your mailing list.

EXAMPLE: ABC Theatres are playing the film “Spiderman 3” at 250 locations around the United States. ABC place a Spiderman prize point on the DreamWalk map outside every ABC theatre playing the film. A condition can be included stating that the free tickets are only usable on Tuesdays, the slowest days at ABC. A user might go to an ABC theatre on a Tuesday afternoon to collect the  free Spiderman ticket and immediately walk inside to redeem it and check playing times. They decide to go to the six o’clock screening and they purchase an additional ticket for their friend on the spot. As a result of the DreamWalk Campaign, that night the theatre is packed with customers who would have normally stayed home. Most of them buy popcorn and bring friends, turning a typically slow Tuesday night into busy and profitable one.

Place free song downloads on the DreamWalk map in high traffic areas and outside music stores. To redeem and download the free song, you can send the user a promo code for use on the artists iTunes page. If they like the free song they can then purchase the album online from iTunes or from the nearby record store. NOTE: Major Label artists only at this stage.

Prize Format: Collector Stamp

Redemption Method: Email

Place a limited number of free tickets, backstage passes or VIP passes on the DreamWalk map outside your venue a week prior to the event. Use the collector stamp prize format so mobile users must visit the venue repeatedly to collect the stamps. This way, not only is your potential audience seeing ads for your event on their mobile phone screens, but they are also seeing the posters and signs at the actual venue. By the day of the event, mobile users who weren’t lucky enough to collect all the stamps and receive a free ticket are highly likely to buy a ticket because your DreamWalk campaign has built up excitement around the event.

Try placing free popcorn or candy bars on the DreamWalk map outside your stores. This will attract customers into your store and once inside they will probably rent a movie before leaving. While the “conditions” feature in DreamWalk doesn’t allow you to require the user to make a purchase to redeem their prize, you could add the condition that the user must be a member at your video store, a great way to recruit new members.

Place free DVD rentals or trial subscriptions on the DreamWalk map in high traffic areas or near video stores. To redeem the Free rentals the user is redirected to your mobile website where they can create an account and begin renting DVDs. Please note. DreamWalk terms do not allow you to require Credit Card details for prize redemption.

As a part of your new car launch, give away a free car on DreamWalk. By using the treasure hunt prize format and placing the starting point at a major dealership you could have thousands of mobile users visiting the dealership and seeing the car up close and in person. By placing the treasure hunt clues in extremely inaccessible locations such as deserts, oceans, mountain tops etc. you can make it very challenging for users to collect the clues, thereby drawing out the campaign and creating a race for the prize.

Alternatively, place clues at various dealerships across the country so mobile users must go into numerous showrooms and see the car over and over again. You can still make your clues difficult to solve thereby extending the duration or the campaign. Use your DreamWalk campaign to create a free media buzz.
